World best practice in reducing workplace stress includes focusing on building each individual's resilience. The Centre for Corporate Health has created six programs that specifically focus on enhancing the individual's competency in managing workplace stress and improving their personal effectiveness.
Training Series Modules
Managing Workplace and Personal Stress
This 2 day workshop is designed to increase participants' self-awareness in terms of the nature of stress, its causes and effects and their own responses when experiencing stress. It teaches them a variety of practical cognitive and behavioural techniques to help them cope with stress in ways that do not compromise their emotional and physical health. Using a specific diagnostic tool, participants are encouraged to recognise "early warning signs of stress" and to address them before they have a significant impact on their health.
Workplace Stress Awareness
This 1 day workshop is designed to increase participants' self awareness in terms of the nature of stress, its causes and effects and their own responses when experiencing stress. By acquiring effective stress management skills participants will find that they will be happier, healthier and more efficient and effective in what they do both at work and at home.
Introduction to Stress Management
This half day workshop is designed as a broad introduction to the nature of stress, as well as introducing participants to several highly effective cognitive and behavioural stress management techniques. It can be customised for different areas of the organisation, with focus on the particular stressors that group is likely to face.
Coping with Organisational Change
Organisational change involves a transition period for employees, usually requiring them to move from the 'known' to the 'unknown'. This transition phase is often accompanied by feelings of uncertainty, insecurity, loss of control and emotional distress. This workshop will empower participants to come through change effectively and possibly use the turbulence created by change to their advantage rather than having it work against them. By using proactive strategies to deal with change, rather than reactive strategies, participants will enjoy a less stressful change period.
Fundamentals of Effective Time Management
An ability to effectively manage time can contribute to reducing workplace stress. This workshop is designed to increase participants' skills for better managing their time. It is designed to help participants to take control of their day at work and at home and live the kind of lives they want. Participants will be introduced to a number of proven time management strategies as well as a system for planning and organising that will enable them to better meet deadlines, and achieve their goals.
Achieving the Work / Lifestyle Balancing Act
We all intuitively know that without balance our work and personal lives are likely to become stressed. This workshop identifies the sources of pressure and demands on the individual. It provides a framework for examining values and behaviours that may be contributing to a feeling of imbalance and then provides practical strategies to achieve change and a renewed sense of being able to manage all aspects of life.
